Q: What is the Walk-A-Thon?
A: The Walk-A-Thon is a fundraiser for the 2013 Ignited By Truth Conference. It consists of a beautiful loop trail in Fred G. Bond Metro Park in Cary, NC. Walkers invite sponsors to make pledges and then complete as many laps as they can in a 45-minute window. All are welcome to participate!
Q: Who can I ask to sponsor me?
A: Invite your relatives, friends, schoolmates, co-workers, neighbors, fellow parishioners, and local businesses to make pledges. Spread the word about Ignited By Truth and ask for their prayers for the conference! Help us reach more souls and raise the money needed for IBT 2013!
Q: What do I say when I approach a potential sponsor?
A: Tell them that you are participating in a Walk-A-Thon to raise money for a Catholic Conference called “Ignited By Truth”. If they have never heard about the conference, hand them a copy of the flyer from your registration packet. Ask if they could sponsor you to walk. Tell them your goal and let them decide whether they would like to make a pledge per lap or a flat donation. If they are not able to help the conference financially, ask if they could help us storm heaven with their prayers. Thank them and invite them to come to IBT 2013 in February!
Q: Who can participate in the Walk-A-Thon?
A: Walkers of all ages are welcome! Invite your friends and family members to join you in helping make IBT 2013 possible! We hope that many IBT fans from all over the Diocese will come and participate! If you would rather not walk, but would like to volunteer, we could use your help! Q: What if it rains?
A: Join us in prayer for good weather! The Walk-A-Thon will happen, rain or shine! It will not be rescheduled. Bring your rain gear! Shelter will be provided for registration and the reception, but the Walk-A-Thon track is out in the open.
Q: How do I turn in the donations I collect from my sponsors?
A: After the Walk-A-Thon, please collect any outstanding pledges from your sponsors by Saturday, September 29, 2012. Checks should be made out to “St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church”, putting “Ignited By Truth” on the comment line. All donations are tax-deductible. Remember to give your sponsors a receipt from your registration packet, filling in their donation amount. Please mail your pledge form and donations to:
